Question Center Console Removal

Hi,
I spilled coffee on my 2002 LS430 and it is beginning to smell with a dark spot. Since the car is already 18 years, I am planning to remove the interior carpet for deep cleaning. I have removed all the seats and other connector cables. I am currently stuck with the center console/arm rest. I have pulled the inside console lining and removed the two # 14 screws but the center console/arm rest is still very tight. I also removed the rear passenger aicon vents.
I did a search on this forum on center console removal but got 0 hits. Appreciate some advice and instructions.
Thanks.

I think you need to remove the armrest and console liner first, and then remove the 4 screws shown in the service manual.
This thread may help as has pics.

You should not have to remove the console, just pull the carpet down from under the console.
