I need to ask a question to my fellow LS430 Owners. I believe this is a harder question then I have asked in the past. I have an 04 LS430 , 58,000 Mi. Recently when I put on the Radio It takes 2 or 3 minutes before it starts to play and I can't find out why. I don't know if it has anything to do with my navigation screen. A long time ago I put in a destination which I never go to and can't find a way to delete it from the Nav. No one seems to know what the problem is. One Lexus service rep. said that I should disconnect the negative line from my battery for 10 min. to reboot the system and a stereo and radio repair place said nothing can be done on this Mark Levenson system. This eventually happens to all of them. He has many people with LS430's with the same problem. At first he replaced the amplifiers which never worked. Any Ideas. Thanks to all.

Reason: new title
If you live in a state where there is emissions testing, I would recommend that you don't unplug the battery within 500 miles of that test, since the car won't be I/M ready and has to complete a drive cycle which has various conditions. With my wife's car, it was not ready for almost 800 miles after I did it.
Pretty sure there is some lag, but not 2-3 min. So maybe the tech is right, but can't say. I would trust an indie more than I would a dealer, they tend to make things up. to disconnect the battery is like saying well I'm gonna replace my gas oven so I guess I'll shut off the gas at the street. Why, when there's a valve at the stove itself? And what about the other appliances like the dryer, hot water heater, and furnace, those no longer work when the gas is shut off.

The reason dealer says that is because of the 12v constant that's wired to the radio - there's no reset button on car stereos and no way to individually kill power to it to attempt to erase memory, outside of hunting for the fuse. Most people are going to look at you in a very confused manner when you suggest finding the fuse, so there we go. To your point tho, that is a good disclaimer - make sure you don't kill power close to inspection time.
Aries, outside of that simple procedure, I did a quick search about resetting the NAV to factory default, and this is what I found. https://itstillruns.com/reset-lexus-...m-7588719.html It starts with disconnecting the battery and then goes further to disconnect all of the components of the NAV. You could try that.
Has anyone else had this problem? My main concern is that this is an indication of a greater problem concerning the Nav. screen and the electrical system in the trunk that runs the screen. Had them both replaced with Lexus parts some 4 years ago.I was only relating to you what I was told it might be in the hope of providing more information . I do not really believe what I was told. I was hoping to get the real bottom line from you guys. Thanks...
