Default squishy ride

just finished road trip of about 1500 miles. lots of interstate.

it seemed the ride was squishy. I was thinking shocks need replacing but don't want to if unnecessary

is it shocks or roads? what will new shocks do?

the job of shocks is to dampen the springs. In theory, without them, the springs would bounce forever and never stop.

imho shocks should be replaced when leaking, but otherwise, there may not be any benefit when replaced, if there is not excessive bouncing already. Remember this car got a .73g on the skidpad which is in 1970's territory, it's pretty soft and it has been described as a mattress on wheels....
