On my car I noticed the terminal clamps are wonky. Meaning tightening the nut on the negative did not clamp down on the post any better (as if continuing to tighten distorted the clamp), and it was still pretty loose--the sweet spot was to back off. If it were as simple as replacing them I would, but it would seem to be a slippery path attempting that. So I just tightened as best I could, meaning a clear example where tightening more and more was making things worse.

I am no expert here; but,
1. Try disconnecting battery
for 20 to 30 mins. & then
reattach cables.
2. If cable clamps are loose,
replace the clamps, or wrap
battery terminal(s) with a thin sheet of copper(to fill the spaces), or a auto parts store may sell copper terminal caps.
3. Good luck.
