Default Tanabe NF210/Strut Questions

Hi everyone -

I've decided to take the plunge and do this upgrade. My problem is finding Tanabe's that say they fit the LS430. I've found many listings for the GS430 and 400. Are they compatible - same spring, or is their a specific LS430 NF210.

Last question - anyone have nay last thoughts on OE Spectrums v the KYBs? I'm looking for a controlled, but only marginally firmer ride than stock.

Thx!

Why not look at something like bc coilovers?
Once you're in for new struts and springs you're running up to about a couple of hundred cost difference. Coilovers would allow you to dial in your perfect height, and the bc's also allow you to dial in ride firmness.
One of the biggest advantages is that the coilovers come assembled so it makes the install much simpler (at least in my experience of doing it diy), which covers the cost difference !

Back on topic though, I dont think they made nf210 for the ls430

Do the wheels need to be removed to make coilover adjustments? I've seen extenders but I can't tell where they extend *to*.

KYB only, avoid any other struts. eBay used to be flooded with Tanabe springs for the LS430, now there are hardly any. You might have to reach out to Tanabe directly, or source a set from YAJ as there are many springs for sale there. GL.

Do give us an update when you put them in! I'm looking into putting in a set of NFs too. The DFs they say sit a tad bit lower.

One reason why I want the Tanabe springs over coils is because they pretty much maintain the stock ride, with just a 5% spring rate difference. I still want it to be cushy af inside.

That's exactly wha tI'm looking for too. I just want to refresh the suspension (stock 2006 w/123k), improve the handling a bit, but still retain most of the car's stock characteristics. Could do the rear sway bar as well....

To make ride height and preload adjustments, yes. The extenders you're referring to are for the dampening *****.

The GS and LS platform is not cross compatible. It will not fit since their suspension is totally different compared to the LS.

KYB's would be a better replacement but note that lowering spring's will lessen the life of these replacement shocks.
