Aisin is OEM and the price is cheap. Do the kit with the tensioner.
Since I noticed vairous part numbers for the Aisin timing belt kit on Amazon......Do you happen to have the part number for the Aisin timing belt kit for a second timing belt change for a 2001 LS430? I still have time before reaching 180,000 miles, but if my water pump starts leaking, I'd like to have the complete kit to change everything. I currently have 144,000 miles and the first belt was changed at 95,000 miles without changing the water pump. Thanks.

Aisin TKT001- includes water pump
Aisin TKT021- includes water pump AND hydraulic tensioner

This is perfect advice re: tensioner. The $1600 price at Lexus doesn't even include it. Maybe it's not needed every 90k, and only every 180k, but with all the labor to get there, why not?
DO NOT use the Aisin waterpump / timing belt kit provided timing belt.
Purchase timing belt from dealer
I respectfully disagree with this advice.
Not too many people would say this (there isn't much I would purchase from a dealer except touch up paint which is actually cheaper at the dealer than online).
Aisin is the OEM manufacturer. Go ahead and pay a dealer triple for the same part.
Back in the 90's I befriended the parts manager at the local Volvo dealer. He told me in general, he could get me about 50% off any dealer part, but why come to him in the first place when I could buy the OEM for less? On a muffler and tailpipe yes I wanted genuine over aftermarket, because the tail pipe was curved to the side not straight back like at a muffler shop, and back then not all were mandrel bent and without an exterior seam. I remember needing a starter and he basically refused to sell me a Volvo reman starter. He said he considered me a friend and didn't want me to overpay even at 50% off list.
With your triple the price example how about a Bando serpentine belt v. Toyota branded?

My Lexus parts counter person provides an invaluable service...

Not advice, but facts on Dealer vs aftermarket timing belt here:

I agree the tensioner should be replaced with each TB service, BUT just an FYI, it is easily accessible at all times. It can be replaced quicker and easier than an oil change...
