I'd go with your original estimate at $490 for a perfect match when it's done. I recently had my 04UL's passenger seat entirely redone for approximately $1000. It's an absolutely perfect match to the original seat and all seats look alike. Mine had failed from tears along the perforated holed in the seat and the back.

I love my car and keep it in near new condition with little regard to cost. It's a shame to watch a luxury car like this deteriorate into junk.

My driver seat was cut up so badly i got my black driver seat fully re done top and bottom for 300$ The material he use pretty good quality it matches. The guy i asked knew a guy that did it cheap for him because he restores auction cars i would ask around to get a better deal. You can always remove the seat and bring it to them maybe they can make it slightly cheaper

Better than a car payment, though...

True. I don’t believe in car payments though - I lay it down all at once.

Ya I might just repair. Hope it will match. That’s the concern. Old leather up against brand new. I guess it’s better than torn and falling apart.

Call around to the big dealer used car lots in your area and ask if they have a mobile leather and vinyl repair guy that comes to their lot on a regular basis. Get his number from them and arrange to meet him at one of the lots he visits on a rotating basis. These mobile touch up and repair guys (some do paint, some dents, some interior work) can usually quickly repair a tear and airbrush fade in the result so that it is almost invisible. Every used car lot of any size uses these guys. They work way cheaper than tradition shops. I've had seat tears repaired in an hour for about $100.

Could always check out https://www.lseat.com/products/2001-...ers-front.html - I'm not sure if anyone has reviewed these, but have seen them mentioned a few times.

My passenger seat did the same thing, lightly used seat. I made a patch from black vinyl. Cut it about 1/2 inch larger than the tear and threaded it into the seat, inside the torn leather. Buttered up the mating surfaces with some black silicone and pressed it down. THen wiped off the little snakes of glue that came squirting up through the perforation holes. So far its working fine, with slight color mismatch where the black silicone was smeared on the surface.

Look and see if there is a Creative Colors in your area, that's who my Dealership uses for Interior / Seat repairs, they do an excellent job.

Aypues,

I have the leather/cushions from all four seats from a Blk/Blk 2004 LS430 Premium if you are interested.
Everything is in good shape. I purchased the car as a running front end damaged parts car. I gutted the interior to make a custom blk/ecru interior on my Silver 2005 Ultra Luxury. I didn’t need the seat leather since I kept my Ecru seats.

Anyway, Let me know.
