So far so good, and its been about a month. I'm not sure what it was putting out, but I had it tested and the voltage regulator was bad. My brand new interstate battery also tested bad, but thats because of the alternator. I'll definitely keep you guys posted. Originally Posted by Bocatrip

Lexus Test Driver
had a battery light come on and drove 3 miles home and car wouldn't start when i shut it off in the driveway.
battery had a 9/17 sticker on it (Interstate) but had a slight bulge on one of the sides so i thought "well, i should just replace this" since i bought the car from the auction and who knows how long it's been sitting around with a dead battery
went and bought a same battery at Costco, put it in, battery light is still on.
drove to parts store, had them test it, alternator is putting out 11.5V.... that outta do it....
drove it back home and about half a mile away the dash went completely dead and would flicker when i came to a stop at a light and car barely accelerated.
i thought it was going to die on me right on the road, but made it home, whew!
ordered a re-manufactured Denso alternator from RockAuto, $120, going to be replacing it this weekend
for now she's a Dead Lexi in the driveway

Quick update:
Just finished a road trip from MN to TN, just about 2500 miles in total. Had no issues whatsoever, including the alternator.
