2005 LS 430 Stereo Upgrade
I've been searching this site for a stereo upgrade option that doesn't look clunky, but so far I've come up empty. I've looked at the Beat Sonic kit but it doesn't have a "factory-install" look. Does anyone know if there's a stereo with a bezel that matches a 2005 LS 430 dash (without navigation)? My dash is so pretty just as it is; I just want to upgrade the stereo without changing the contour of the factory dash.

You’d have to hire a car audio installer to fabricate a custom one unfortunately. But I agree - there was plenty of room behind my head unit when I installed it, enough to be able to flush mount it and keep the oem dash countour
Bummer. I guess I'll just stick with the solution I've already implemented: a Grom unit connected in series between the factory stereo and the wiring harness. That gave me Bluetooth and RCA/USB in, but no navigation.

this is something I still want to do but yeah I want it flush with the dash. I dont like the kits that space the radio out. looks clunky to me. I need to take the time one day to pull the radio and see how much room is back there to install a radio. I dont want to cut anything obviously so we'll have to see. May end up having to flush mount the touchscreen part of the radio and remote mount the body of the radio somewhere a bit lower where there is more room. I just havent taken the time to see what I'm working with. Either way I will have to custom fabricate a dash "kit" or trim to make the screen look at least partly factory, or at least pretty clean looking and flush.

I've already had the stereo out, and there is indeed plenty of room for a unit to be flush-mounted. Not sure why all the bezel kits have it extended beyond the factory dash.
Been thinking about this for my 05, which will be arriving shortly. I have the ML with nav.
I'm going with the Vaistech BT adapter. My car has phone BT, I only need media BT. The Vaistech also "fixes" the nav to eliminate the I agree and allows use of nav while rolling.

Totally agree about the "clunky" part. My girlfriend has a 2010 Toyota Camry, and there's a stereo available for it that perfectly matches the dash. Not sure why something like that isn't available for the Lexus.

Probably not a problem if you have tinted windows, but my state has stupid 0% front tint laws.
IMO, a better alternative: https://www.usaspec.com/p-322-bt45-toy.aspx
