03 LS430 - Leak at top of coolant reservoir
Hello,
While trying to fix a coolant leak in my 03 LS430 I noticed another leak where at the top of the expansion tank where it meets the housing. Anyone tried to fix this?
Can you take the two apart and fill it with RTV or FIPG?

I'm not sure if I would qualify that as a leak per se.
If coolant were dripping or spraying from that point you would see residue below it or on the hose and intake cover. Remove the air inlet to get a better look.

I started a post a while back about this type of leak in our cars. I havent been able to locate where mine is leaking but I can tell you that this is a common issue. I have tried every clamp and even the radiator cap but I still get a drop or two leaking on longer trips. Of course the fan sprays the leak and makes it look much bigger......if u find the source of the leak...please let us know.

I know part of a Prestone tester fell off into mine, and the only way I knew to get it out was to bust up those tiny fins inside so I could get more access. If you really want to replace it, someone pointed out it's part of the fan shroud, which would explain why I couldn't find it. But I left mine as is after fishing all the broken plastic pieces out. Doesn't seem like the reservoir does much anyway, so unless it lost anything noticeable daily, prolly fine to leave it as is...
