Anyone running led bulbs in their low beam on their 04-06 LS? My oem hid are faded and looks like a pink color. I have led bulbs in my fog lights and day time running lights. Would like my low beams to be bright like my fog lights but not sure which brand would fit in the headlight housing.
I would say they're going to be a lot dimmer than the 3000 lumens of HID, and you're going to have to rewire. HID runs off a high voltage igniter and ballast. It's not a 12v system.
Why not just buy new high quality German-made Osram capsules if yours are faded...?
Agree with suggestion to buy new HID bulbs. Why would you trade powerful HID lights designed for maximum road illumination with precisely designed cutoffs, beam spread, and color temperature, with LEDs bulbs that are nowhere near the light quality or output and definitely not designed for that housing? What are you hoping to gain by switching to LED? You would not be gaining more light output or cash in your wallet. If an LED has been invented that can duplicate a HID, which as far as I know hasn't happened yet, such an LED would currently be significantly more expensive than the HID bulb.
The retrofit source has new Morimoto 2stroke 2.0 LED bulbs that will fit a D2S housing and will work on DRL bulbs so you could also swap out your high beam. I bought a set on black Friday for the high beam in my 2GS. I'll try to remember to post how they work since it should be very similar to the LS
I have hids in both low beams and fogs eveytime they seam faded or so i just buy new bulbs for it so you dont have to waste money on buying the ballest again hids over led any day i also removed my day running light go to DDM TUNING if your in socal
Throw in a set of Osram Nightbreaker Laser D2S bulbs. The downside to HID is that it grows dimmer over time, just because of the way the creation of light works. If you have the LS430 projectors, upgrade the bulbs, it will be worth it to keep the HID.
The first looks like MADE IN CHINA, which means you get MADE IN CHINA quality and long term durability. Some reviews also mention that they include a card that will give you a warranty in exchange for a five star review. (!)
The D2S capsules I put in mine say Osram, made in Germany. They're so good that there's Chinese counterfeits of them, they have serials you can check to see if they're legit. Germany, like Japan, has strong quality control, China doesn't care. I am a strong proponent of buy once, cry once when it comes to price on quality items like this.

+1 on buying OEM or better quality on anything that is painful/difficult/expensive to install, or critical component. imo headlight bulbs are critical components because if you driving down the interstate at 75mph, you really want to be able to see as far as you can, not to mention if it failed, it really sucks driving in the dark.
I doubt if LED can performs better than HID bulbs in our LS. I am not referring to yeah LED looks cooler or brighter/whiter when one is staring at the car, but can LED really throw lights further down the road when installed in LS.
