Default Stuck Trunk prob. not electrical

My trunk had a good load of groceries and supplies from Costco. When I got home, opened the trunk as usual, got the cold stuff with the fresh fish out and hauled in the house. On return about 2 minutes later the trunk lid had closed... weak struts.... and I have found no way to get the trunk open. I think it a mechanical issue with something having fallen across the latch or opening. A clue is that the right side appears to be a bit high... the body parts all used to line up nicely.
I have played with the valet switch and keys, held the key fob trunk button down for several seconds. I cannot get the trunk to open.
A fuse check is really not easy because I don't see a trunk latch fuse in the manual. Maybe not a problem because the fuel latch is working great and they are on same fuse... good thing because this fuse is inside the trunk.
Other things tried:
Pushing down hard on the trunk.
Ear on trunk then try release on fob.... two seconds no sound, then a very soft click. So soft I could be imagining it.
With this model, there is a refrigerator so I am thinking no easy way into the trunk from the cabin.
What a bummer... but at least I got the fish out!

This may be a record for solving your own problem. I decided to go "bounce" on the trunk lid with all my 145 lbs could bring to bear and it worked. a fabric grocery bag had fallen across the opening and had "gummed up" the works. This was the same solution as for the kid's blanket. I don't think I did any damage but would guess that 300 lbs might.
