fuse for OBDII port?
i don't have my car with me, so i can't look in the manual yet.
just wondering if anyone knows if there is a fuse for the OBDII port? just had converters replaced, and the shop called and said that the light is still on, and the OBDII port is doing nothing when the tech plugged the scanner in. so they can't read anything or reset anything.

well, the info is in the owners manual. i thought i saw that RKW (?) had posted a diagram. but it isn't here anymore. it is on the driver's side kick panel. fuse # 11.
off to get emissions test done lights is finally out, fuse replaced so the state can do their thing and not bother me about this for another 2 years, lol.

yes, that cleared up my problem. not sure what happened. but seems like i had a couple different blown fuses that i replaced. it's just a small ATM 7.5 amp fuse.

You were lucky. I've now been through all my fuses - only blown fuse was a passenger cigarette lighter (10a) fuse.
Hoping that that would fix it by some unrelated coincided I tried the connection again. - still no talking
My symptoms are that I can connect to my Bluetooth elm adaptors, there is enough power to run them fine and according to torque, the phone is talking to the adaptor fine.
But none will connect to the ECU of the Lexus. I can't even see anything obviously wrong with the connection port itself either and the cable behind looks fine. I've tried different protocols of connection but still no joy.
Next step.....disconnect battery for a few days over the weekend perhaps?

Yep changed the fuse with some from a known working circuit. Original fuse works fine too.
No connection. Did the ECU reset - no connection.
methinks there might be something up with the computer unless anyone knows of any other way to get the obd to talk.
So I pulled the computer out to have a closer look - It certainly gets hot sitting in the engine bay. Wondering if some caps might need replacing given it's 17 years old with lots of heat exposure

Ok so unplugged and replugged plugged all the connectors I could see in the engine bay
and downloaded a different app on my android phone - called 'car scanner pro' with my OBDlink MX bluetooth ELM adapter
I'm not sure what exactly made the difference, the plugging or the app but I have some form of connection to the ECU now - yay
