Driver Window Won’t Go Up
2001 LS430. Driver-side window won’t go up. Tried holding the key to the unlock position to use the function of lowering all the windows and opening the sunroof. Then held it in the Lock position. All the windows went back up...except the driver’s.
In my mind, this eliminated the window switch as being the problem.
Checked the fuse and confirmed everything else on that circuit works.
Next, swapped the MPX module with the passenger side module. Driver module worked on the passenger side, but passenger module didn’t work the driver window.
I’m down to changing the motor. Just want to make sure I didn’t miss anything before I go buy one and get into that task.
Thanks

sounds like the motor could be the culprit. i replaced both my driver and passenger front ones b/c they would not roll up intermittently. just make sure you follow the procedure for the "anti-pinch" feature when installing the motor. but is was a very easy process.
Thanks. Doing research on that right now. Found this instructional https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...placement.html
Part just came in, so I’m going to give it a whirl.

Got the motor changed. Sorry, caverman, wished I had seen your post before. Didn’t think of taking pics.
Thanks to rwt75010 for the instructions. Saved me a ton of time!
Only thing I missed was the part of tie-wrapping the spring-loaded gear before taking the motor off. Luckily I marked it, so I knew where to set it when mounting the new motor.
Caused myself more headache by tearing off the 18yr old window tinting. It was bunching up when I was trying to lower the glass back down to mount it, so I just started ripping it off. Bad idea. Now I have to scrape all the glue residue off the window.
All-in-all, it was a lot easier than it seems (again, thanks to ret75010’s instructions). Most time-consuming part is taking off all the connectors and stuff to get the door panel off and get everything out of the way to unmounting the window receiver. But I didn’t find any of it hard.

03TXLS, mine never gave me any warning. Didn't notice it moving slower before it went completely out.
However, I did notice it was binding slightly when I put it all back together. Saw a video that recommended spraying the window side tracks with a silicone spray lubricant w/ teflon. Did this and it seems to work better than before. I used Blaster brand, only because it was the only brand available at HD. Video said to make sure it includes Teflon.
