Clock/climate light burned out?
Howdy,
I've searched these forums for a fix but haven't really found anything like my issue. The clock/climate above the nav on my newly purchased '03 is burned out. So far I've taken apart the dash and popped out the nav to see if everything is plugged in correctly. All the lights and buttons work on the unit otherwise, so I'm not really sure if it's the fuses either. Nothing is covering it, and you can see in the pic that the passenger seatbelt light still works.
Is the light/LED/whatever it is just plain burned out?

Checked fuses and didn't find any issues. Ebay only had clocks for the non-nav models so I ended up purchasing a new screen assembly. Hasn't arrived but I'll update when I get around to it.

Found a used one off ebay for ~$220 shipped. Didn't include the vents or trim, just the screen/clock. It also helps that my current nav screen is cracked in two places from being pressed too hard in the past (see orange spots).

Thinking back -I think that display and the information display on the dash was on the same fuse - which I had to change due to a bad LED bulb. Hope the replacement gets you back up and running!

Installed the screen I purchased off ebay; happy to say that it's working now.
Installation is pretty straightforward. You'll need to remove the console from the seat air controls up. There's a few guides to do this scattered around the forums. Once those are removed you'll need to pop out the temperature controls on each side. This is the most difficult part since the trim is easily damaged. I removed them both using a credit card and a flathead screwdriver. Lay the credit card on the dash so its edges line up with the crack between the dash/temperature control. Put the flathead screwdriver right on the edge of the card/dash crack and apply enough pressure to push the dash in so you can slide the flathead under the temperature control bezel. Once the flathead is under the bezel you can remove the card and force the control out. Next you have to CAREFULLY remove the screws holding the assembly in. Use magnetic bits or tape on the end of the screwdriver to get them out or they'll fall into the dash to never be seen again. Screen assembly pops right out after.
Removing the screen/clock from the assembly is super easy. Unscrew 4 screws and it comes right out. Pop out the old unit and the new one goes right in.

wow nice write up , you really have too pull the temperature controls out? Is that because the wiring will get hung up ? But everything is pretty much snapped in ? how about disconnecting the actual harness for the navi , how many plugs for that ?

Temperature controls have to come out because that's the only way to access the screws that hold the unit in. Disconnecting the navigation is easy, I believe there's 4 plugs on the top and one blue on the bottom. You can't confuse plugging them back in since they're all different sizes.

TX Meatball I have to ask how do you get those screws out behind the temperature control buttons without dropping them down in the dash ? I see there are two on each side , then after that I guess it just pulls out ?
