Anyone removed the A-pillars from their cars? I want to pop off the passenger side so I can run the wire for the mic for my stereo. I searched and couldn't find anything. I'm sure they just pop right out with a little pressure from a trim removal tool but I figured I would ask here first.
It's funny because the tolerances are so tight that it is difficult to press the wire in between the windshield and the pillar. Same goes for the headliner and the windshield. On my Ford Explorer you could practically fit your whole fist in the gap...
the instructions in rkw77080's second pdf (which match the main service manual) are ambiguous...
Push the upper portion of the front pillar garnish, then pull and release the clip labeled A.
Push and pull in which directions??
Is there any trick to this? I've seen a couple youtube videos where they just pull really hard without any initial push. I want to remove my trim without damaging it.
