P.M. me if you require contact info for extrude honing..have fixtured tooling
I definitely will when you did yours did you port it before you got it extrude honed? You also picked up 22hp correct?

Sure, Lexus had to factor in noise and _some_ cost considerations, so a custom backyard design may yield a slight edge if those and other such factors are taken out of the equation - is dropping those considerations all you hope to gain efficiencies from? I'm curious if you are using any CAD/CAM modelling and if you are conducting your own FEA, and if so, what software packages are you using (there are probably better ones available now than what was available at the time of the LS430 design), and what can you objectively/mathematically tell us about the exhaust system that Lexus may have overlooked?
Not that familiar with our LS exhaust, but almost positive it is a fake dual setup with a y pipe (didn't Toyota and Honda start this in the 90's?). Again not sure why but my mufflers seem to be coated black.

Exhaust definitely isn't my forte, but I always found it curious that in 2007, BMW had a true dual exhaust on the N54 products, and piece by piece the system was $6,300. Guys ripped it out for sound, and weight reduction. But by 2011, it went to a fake dual exhaust like everyone else, and the system cost about 1/3, but numbers were kept the same through tuning. By 2014, the exhaust got really fake, with a muffler turned sideways like a Pontiac G6, and the cost was once again cut in 1/2. Numbers stayed the same through tuning. It would be interesting to know what engineers would do if they had free reign. Maybe exhaust systems would cost $6k+ from the factory...

edit here is an example imho of going from a true dual to a fake dual, and owner says he saved 40 lbs (then again this is sprung weight)

it would seem to me that OE exhausts look boring, and aftermarket looks cool too

OE also seems to prioritize sound, most BMWs close one side most of the time to reduce the drone, on my car I prefer original, that's just me

I've got a plan with mine. I've found some 1UZ Soarer/SC400 headers locally that may fit a UCF30 (might need a bit of modding to clear the firewall) and I'll be running a full dual 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch system with an X pipe, electronic cutouts dumping at the diff (or the front guards, haven't decided yet) and twin big *** Flowmasters in the rear. If its too rowdy I might chuck in a couple of Hot Dogs in the middle somewhere. Its a skid car so it has to be loud af

This guy did true duals on his gs430 thats what I am going with no x pipe or anything true duals all the way to the muffler with 2.25 piping. I will post some more vids I found on YouTube that will give you an idea of what it will sound like.

yes..and about 25 ft.lbs torque, under the curve.

Check out before and after dyno testing...

So in theory I should be able to get 50hp+50tq with my headers, exhaust and extrude honed manifold then how long did it take you to take to install and remove the intake manifold?

So I was wrong......after calling some friends that own race shops and dyno cars it was unanimous that an x pipe will get more power than an h pipe or straight through piping, so x pipe for the win.
