You have CoverCraft, Heather's, and Intro-Tech? Sounds like you like Heather's the least - which is your favorite of CoverCraft and Intro-Tech? Can you do a 3-way shootout review for the LS430 community, showing pics of the fit of each, and pics of them stored after removal?

Manufacturer warranties exist for many reasons. For items subjected to extreme conditions (such as high levels of UV, extreme heat, extreme cold - and these sunshades fit all 3), a longer warranty tends to indicate high quality design and construction, which gives you an idea of the overall durability of the item.

If you do your research deep enough, you will find that some/many of the cheaper sunshades rip and tear, usually at the creases and folds (incl. Covercraft), or where one part is sewn onto another part (incl. velcro strips), and usually these failures happen shortly after the warranty period expires.

I prefer the buy once, cry once approach, and prefer not to buy items with poor durability that will just add to the landfill, or waste my time patching something up that should have been designed better to begin with.

My wife has used those foldable shiny reflective sunshades (folds like an accordion). It has lasted over 10 years before flaking and coming apart, but it’s always been too floppy.

I have three Covercraft over the years for different cars. The oldest is six years old now and still looks new. It fits perfectly and is nice and rigid against the windshield. I wish the Covercraft folded up more compactly but I’ve tried (and returned) several of those big round circle ones. The round circles just don’t stay up well, especially in the corners. Ultimately, the Covercraft worked best and I prefer the solid coverage over a desire for compactness.

My only complaint is the custom nature of Covercraft means each order took a month to receive. I guess those didn’t stock the particular ones I needed.

I prefer the simple fabric over steel spring frame that consist of two rectangular screens, each 32" x 38". You can lay them on top of each other and fold them into a circle. They are silver on one side and black on the other side. I start by installing over the passenger side and keep the top outside of the mirror. This fits perfect to cover the windshield and i tuck the top edge under the right sunshade in the crease between it and the roof. I lay the driver side over the first screen and pull it to the left side of the driver side window. I tuck the top as I did on the other screen. This is quick and easy and completely covers the windshield. I know they are cheap, as the steel loop will eventually wear thru the fabric material. I just thow it away and buy another set for $15. I store the screen by reaching into the rear and slide it between the right side of the driver seat and the transmission hump. Out of the way for passengers and the driver.

hi,
I apology if this is a little of topic.. but I just got the whole windshield tinted instead with 70%. That way its always protected. You can also do 90% which is almost clear but will help protect your dash.

take care,
Sean
