Just picked up a new to me 2004 lexus ls430.The dealer tried to down load my phone book and wasn't able to. He said it is because I have an apple I phone 6 also I am not able to play my music through the radio. Took back to dealer and he said it wasn't available in 2004 on the ls 430 Is this correct or do I need to see another dealer

 

I wasn't able to add my 5S phone book or my Blackberry when I had it a few years ago. And yes, the Bluetooth is voice only.. No music. Time to look at a Vais or Grom BT adapter...

 

I used an Android phone with an app name "Bluetooth File Transfer", I was able to send ONLY the main number on the contact to the LS430's phone book, for instance if you have multiple number in each contact, the LS430 phone contact only accept the 1st number on the list and stored it. It's not easy only if you are savvy on phone app and know how the app works.

I found out the easier way is use the phone to dial and assuming your paired the phone to the navigation unit, it will connect and able to use the hands free function. the audio thru the speaker isn't that clear and clean like the newer Lexus HF system, but better than none.

 

Yes you cannot play your music from iphone to LS430 need to use adapter like from Beat Sonic to integrate with harness for audio
