So only on the doors, on the steering wheel and over the glove box the "wood" is actually made from laminated wood. Or?

I think they have a thin sheet of wood on the parts and laminate over the plastic the wood grain in the car cannot be fake otherwise why would they make such a huge deal about all of it coming from the same tree.

I used the term laminate, but I think it more like a veneer. Here's a previous thread about it.

It's real wood, regardless of whether it's laminated on plastic, steel or otherwise. It's crafted so perfectly, that it is mistaken for plastic by some! The steering wheel is not laminated, of course.

Actually, it's called "Antique Walnut."

I've seen that same lighter steering wood on several black interior cars, but never on the other colored interiors.

Guys, it IS wood! Just not a 2 x 4. Hahaha! Thick wood shrinks and warps as it looses moisture.

Default Wood color

I personally like the gray. I have a 2003 UL 94K with Bordeaux Bird's-Eye Maple (red wine colored instead of natural maple)
