Looking For Top Notch LS430 - Hard To Find
I have been looking for a very nice low mileage 430 that hasn't been hit, clean carfax, well maintained, under a 100K with everything working. Man are they hard to find. I can find 430's but there always seems to be something that isn't working like mirrors, or tilt wheel, or its been in an accident. If anyone has one, or knows one for sale, please let me know. No Green.. LOL..
You'll find one through a Lexus dealership that could be CPO, and if you buy an extended warranty, you'll get the peace of mind in regards to mirrors, tilt, speakers, etc...
I bought my 05 through Carmax with 42K on the odo and I paid 19K for it almost 2 years ago. There are a few 3rd Gen LS's on the Carmax site now.
Oh and welcome to the club!

I got my ls430 almost a year ago 82,000 miles out the door registered, inspected and on the road for $10,500 only thing it needed was brakes, as well as rims and tires.
Car fax, autoreport and those other type of service's are only 30% accurate people that have money to purchase a $60,000 car have money to get it fixed without calling the insurance company.
What is your location so we can better help you, also welcome hope you find a car soon.

You should get this one:

It's a 23+ year old car - who cares if some things aren't working perfectly? Get it fixed! It'll be cheaper than buying a creampuff - which things will break on, too.
Make sure the timing belt service was done fairly recently, too.

It seems like around here if a Lexus dealer gets a car as old as a 2004 to 2006 they won't keep it. They just wholesale it. I have never found one at a dealer. If anyone hears of one, I would appreciate it if you turned me on to it.... Thanks for all your suggestions...

I checked that one out, but it had been in an accident so I passed.... Maybe I should rethink that a bit... I have found a couple of nice cars, but when I have them checked out it seems that there are always expensive repairs to be made, like mirrors and steering wheels, or maint not being done like timing belt and water pump. When they want a premium for the car, and it has expensive repairs, I have passed.

You would probably be better off getting a newer car with a warranty, that way there is no expensive repairs to pay for out of pocket and you get a loaner for the day if repairs need to be done so you are not inconvenienced.
Again i am not trying to offend it just sounds like you are going to invest a lot of time and effort i to finding something that is almost impossible to find.

05ls430518 -You are right, my expectations may be too high, but they can’t be fulfilled unless I keep looking. I found my diesel truck which was close to new, it took 8 months looking, but I found it. Your logic about the new Camry is spot on, but there is just something very appealing about these 430’s that is classic. After all I still drive my 60 Impala… Just like older very nice cars…
Perhaps this will tickle your fancy?

If not, you will find the one you want. It will just take some time and you have to be flexible. It took me 2 years to find my LS400 and I only found it after I gave up looking. Even then, I waited 2 weeks for the price to drop to a level that I found acceptable and the timing belt needed to be done.

If your good at diy you can fix the door lock actuators parts are $180-$240 new, used mirrors can be found for $65-$200, i dont know anything about the steering wheel but the motors online can be found for $60-$180 used and new oem for $185-$300. There are a bunch of write ups on how to replace these items just something to keep in mind, you could pay less get a car with minor inconvieneces then fix them and have an awsome car.

when I got my LS the Carfax said no accidents. A few years later I got the autocheck from a club member who had an account for unlimited checks as he was looking for a car and had found his vehicle. car had been in an accident. Carfax is not as good as autocheck, just advertises more. stupid fox
Just because a car is a one owner and low miles doe NOT mean it will be perfect.
99.9% of used cars will need some work done.
To prevent something like a non-functioning power side mirror or tilt motor from buying an otherwise great car is plain silly and stupid. Those repairs are not that expensive when you look at the overall picture.
Need to get your expectations straight. Even if you find one with zero issues, what are you going to do when some of these common problems start to surface? Sell the car? At some point you'll have to do maintenance on these things.
They are reliable, but like any other car they have plenty of common problems, some are very expensive to fix and even more so if you can't turn a wrench.

Sounds like you need to expand your search. I bought both of my current cars on ebay, my GS came from Florida and I had it shipped. Most of the low milage LS430's are in Florida or Cali, there are plenty of them. Use carfax to look up the history for no accidents, then look up the Lexus drivers site and plug the VIN number to see the history at the dealer. Chances are the low mileage LS430's are all maintained at the dealer and will show full history on that site. My LS430 was from Beverly Hills and 1 owner with every single thing done at the dealer. This is a good place to look:
