Default Beatsonic Brackets - Are they Necessary?

Hey guys, new 01 Celsior owner here, just picked it up with 33k km - hopefully will get a chance to post some pics in the near future.

I have a quick question for those with the beatsonic kits (w/ nav) - are the brackets necessary? I know the stock unit has some brackets on the side, can they be used on the new double din? I have everything from the kit except these brackets...

I contacted beatsonic and they were absolutely no help....

Yes exactly those brackets. The stock unit has something similar on the sides so I'm wondering if they're actually needed or just nice to have.

Have you tried the Celsior kit on your LS?

No i have not i dont have a head unit to plug in and dont wanna purchase a $500 headunit and not know if it works till a year later when warranty runs out yah know lol and yes the brackets are needed they help with support keeping the head unit in so it doesnt flop around inside the dash and to make it harder for thieves to rip the headunit out.

Yeah I know what you mean.

The stock unit has similar brackets though, which are just screwed on so was considering just using them, here's the stock ones:

Yeah Beatsonic is pretty useless from a customer service standpoint... will avoid their products in the future.

The 04-06 Celsior isn't quite legal for import here yet, the earliest versions were built in August of 2003, so this August they will start to be eligible.

The stock brackets are NOT the same, I tried it. The holes are going to be different, I tried to push the unit more back so I tried out my stock brackets and they aren't the same. I just did a full install a few months ago with Pioneer carplay and backup camera. I ended up setting my unit to tilt slightly so its more flush with the top.

Heres the page with my post when I did the install.

The brackets are absolutely necessary, as I found out when I bought a used kit and they were missing. I was lucky enough to go through CARiD (retailer) and there were nice enough to just sell me the brackets, even after saying that it was not possible as everything is sold as a complete kit.

It's possible. Best I can recommend is send them an email and ask. That's what I did and they were very helpful.

That would be awesome if you don't mind... I'm sure it would be useful for other members as well.

It looks like the idea for the stock brackets wont work
