Correct Serpentine Belt Size
Hi all, I bought a Mitsuboshi serpentine belt for my 2001 LS430 from a parts store and the belt they gave me was 6pk2260. However, I have read from other sites that the standard size for LS430 should be 6pk2245 or 6pk2250. Is this belt that I bought to long for my car's application? Thanks!
edit to change: I guess that it helps to look up information for a serpentine belt and not the timing belt. Sorry about that.

Looking up the specs for serpentine belts over at RockAuto I find that the length can vary from 2240mm to 2257mm depending on who makes the belt. 10mm is about 0.4 inches so you could probably use the belt that you have without a problem.

So having done a bit more research the 6pk2240 or 50 means the belt length is 2240 or 50 mm. So the belt that I have bought is 10 to 20 mm longer than standard. Would this be a huge problem in terms of belt tension or belt life? Or would the tensioner be able to take up that extra amount of slack? Thanks!
I very recently changed my serpentine belt and used a 6pk2245. The Toyota branded belt that came off was a 6pk22xx something - too old to read properly but matched up lengths just fine. Part number 90916-02463. Seems like the same part is used on most, if not all, UZ powered Toyota/Lexus vehicles. I used a Dayco branded belt out of interest.
The new belt, when tensioned, made the tensioner sit around the half way point of its rotation so I would not use anything longer. Something I noticed however was that the tensioner will need replacement at such stage shortly as it was causing a slight belt misalignment. I've seen this before on other high mileage Toyotas that I've owned. The pivoting bearing inside the tensioner (not the pulley bearing) is worn so the tensioner does not rotate perfectly perpendicular anymore. When it gets bad you get a noticeable wobble in the pulley when the engine idles. When I do the timing belt soon, I'll certainly be changing out this part with the other bits.
Something to keep an eye out for. Hope that helps.

I highly recommend this Mitsuboshi 6PK2240 Serpentine Belt.

Why not get a new original OEM? They are cheap at Toyota dealerships online. Part # 90916-02586. Same part number as a few other Toyota vehicles, including the Highlander V8 if I recall correctly.
I replaced mine unnecessarily, the squeaking noise I was hearing was from the AC system behind the brake pedal. If you have the same noise, your refrigerant may be low, and if you have the UL package, you probably have a leak in the tubes going to the rear AC system.
