Default DIY brake flush on LS430 ?

A few months ago I did brake flush on my 4GS:

Would I need to use Techstream on the LS430? Or would I be okay using the same equipment I used on my 4GS?

Here's my understanding since I needed the BMW dealer software when I fixed the ABS/DSC pump on my BMW....

The reason software is needed is that when the ABS pump is removed and either repaired or replaced, there will be air bubbles in the pump that cannot be removed by say driving in the snow and slamming on the brakes. The computer will pulse each of the 4 channels individually, and the bleeder is opened when that happens, and closed afterwards. So with BMW, software is only needed when the ABS pump is removed (they also suggest this if a caliper is replaced or any part of the system). In other words, with the computer, 2 complete bleeds are done. First, with the computer, second, with the normal process. All other times, it can be bled normally, and for me, that's with a Motive. I would think the principle is the same on the LS430, but someone else can correct me if I'm wrong....just bleed at each caliper should work. I thought someone once posted a special tool but imho that might just be a fancy Motive. my .02

I bled my brakes a few months ago by myself. I bought a pre owned Motive Products Pressure Power Bleeder kit. It looks like a small garden sprayer that hooks onto the top of the brake resivoir and pushes fluid through the system. I paid 55 bucks for mine and it was in pretty new condition.
Take a look on eBay and you'll find quite a few of them for sale. Such a great tool....

oh, and no Techstream needed for what I did..

I like the Harbor Freight brake bleeder. You run it off your air compressor and it makes it a one man operation. For the rears, you usually need to pull for awhile to get fresh fluid all the way back to the caliper.

Thankfully my previous owner had the fluid changed at 30k and 60k, so I'm still good for a bit.

Cool! thanks for the replies guys. I think I'm going to use the same method that I used on my GS. Will post results later this weekend.

I used the motive on the GS and it worked pretty well once I got the cap to hold good pressure. It did take a while to bleed the rears as he mentioned above though.
