Hello All. I just purchased this 2014 Lexus IS 250 AWD that has 39K miles. It came with a Temp Paper Plate from a used car dealer in Stafford, VA.
The rear plate holes in the trunk lid are buggered. One hole has a bolt broken off in it, the other had a pointy bolt forced into the threads. SH....
So, what is the proper thread style?

You may want to try in the IS forum. This is the LS forum but we are friendly and try to be helpful. I do not know the thread size. I would go to your local Lexus dealer and ask. They probably have a box full of bolts and may give you a couple. Also, Lowes has a good selection of auto hardware in "drawers". Look for the auto drawers and license plate bolts for Toyota/Lexus. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Proper License Plate Thread Size
Thanks to those who responded. I will try the Non-Corrosive Bolts / Screws idea. Plastic / Nylon is easy to use and deal with. I will try the 6.0 mm diameter first, but also have some other choices... John. 9/20/2017.
