Default Shift Lever stuck in park until I pump brakes a few times

When my 2001 112K LS430's shift lever is in park, sometimes the shift lever sticks in park, until I pump the brake pedal a few times. Has anyone had a similar problem? What could be causing the shift lever to stick and what are the possible fixes? This has been going on for a number of months.
(My wife recently used the car and needed cell phone coaching to get out of park. Luckily I was reachable!!)

Happened to me in 2011 with my 2004 LS. Dealership said it was a faulty stop lamp switch which they replaced.

Found this pic from an LS460, but I think location should be similar on the LS430. The switch with the green connector.

I had this happen to me a few years ago, only once... I was in a parking lot, and went to put the car in reverse, and it would not come out of Park. I shut the car off, and it did the same thing again after restarting. I did that a few more times and it then finally went into Reverse with no problem and It's been fine ever since. Strange...

Looks like the brake switch has an adjustment nut on it so that it can be adjusted up or down a little to make contact with brake pedal when it is lightly pressed. Seems unlikely that the switch would go out of adjustment enough to fail to trigger especially to a firm press on the brake pedal but it is worth checking.

Most likely an internal solder has failed leading to a shoddy connection. If you can recreate the problem, double check to see if your brake lights are turning on or not with the pedal down.
