Thanks to helpful posts here this weekend I saved a ton of $$
I fixed my broken passenger mirror by buying a used motor for $55, disassembled it and put it back together and it works great.
Replaced all my spark plugs, cleaned the MAF and throttle body and the car runs much better ( total cost was about $120 for plugs, chemicals, and socket extensions). Gas mileage had dropped quite a bit but is now back to where is should be.
I bet I saved over $1000 over having the dealer fix all these things.

given how complicated the LS430 is, it is still a pretty easy car to do routine maintenance.

 

yeah but having DIY posts here helps. Lots of clips and connectors and such to figure out that suck up time otherwise.

 

I feel the same - great group of folks on this board.

 

Congrats on the savings.... now enjoy the ride a while longer knowing it's in better condition.
