Default Do the cooled seats work well on your LS 430?

A big reason I want the LS 430 is because it has cooled seats. So far i have looked at 2 Ls 430s on craigslist and both cooled seats didn't work that great, I barely felt the cooled air or even air itself coming out. Is that a common problem?

I live in Arizona so I really need good working cooled seats. It might make me move to the GS 430 or find an LS 460 if I have to but I would rather get the Ls 430.

Any thoughts?

It's the first time I ever had a car with cooled seats. Mine work but it's useless cause if you sit down you cover most of the perforated seat which is the way the air comes out. Soooo with that being said if your smaller then me maybe you won't have this issue. To answer your question does it work mine do. Super cold air comes out. Is it useful no it's my opinion since my body covers most the seat.

Of course they work. But this car pampers a person and doesn't assult a problem at the passengers expense. The seats will be cooled, but not in a minute that would beome uncomfortable at the passenger expense. You can put your hand down between your upper legs and feel a cool flow of air. More than than that might become uncomfortable. I live in Phoenix and this car does an excellent job in keeping you comfortable all year long.

No, they barely work. I've had other cars that really had a lot of cold air coming out, but the LS it's very faint.'

Overall, the AC system on the LS is really strong, but they sort of phoned it in on the cooled seats.

It's not just you. The cooled seats in all the 04-06 LS's aren't that great. I changed the underseat filters (at about $18/each) thinking it would improve the airflow when I first took ownership. The difference in airflow was imperceptible.

You WILL notice the cooled seats if you're sweaty though. The air feels stronger & colder if your skin/clothes are wet, especially on the small of your back. I know it's no consolation, but I'm simply speaking from experience. There's many threads documenting the lackluster performance of the cooled seats on here.

On the 460, I've read the cooled seats are improved.

My 01 works well although I dont have much to compare it too. But my wifes new 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite has cooled seats that are not much better if not the same as my 16 year old Lexus LS430. It helps to have the A/C set so it vents air down to your foot wells if you really want to feel it.

My 2005 works pretty well, but after replacing the filter, which is located under the storage compartment on the front of the seat, it was working much better. Those filters no doubt get missed by many owners...

Is there a part number for that under seat filter? I would have never knew there was one there.

The understeat air filters are P/N 88921-50010. They cost about $22/each, but that's before any Club Lexus affiliate discount. On ebay or Whole Foods, err, I mean Amazon, they might be cheaper?

Here's a thread I started regarding filters, when I purchased my 430... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...lter-pics.html

Here's a link to a seller of genuine Toyota/Lexus parts and the under seat filter... https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...921-50010.html

Just to sort of see how much of a difference it would make with a perfectly clean filter before I blew $50 on a new pair of these, I just ran it with no filter to see if it was some sort of clogged filter causing the poor performance.

They still don't work very well in my opinion even with zero restriction on the filter, so I just didn't even bother going any further with them.
