Default Lexus LS430 exterior B pillar removal?

So I am trying to remove the exterior B-pillar so I can paint and wrap them as mine has unfortunately decided to start chipping to the chrome bottom. I have a 2005 Lexus Ls430 I dont know if the years would have changed anything with that, but I cant figure out how to remove it.

I replaced mine many years ago. I don't remember the exact steps, but I do remember that the horizontal chrome trim along the bottom of the window had to be removed.

I just did this to my driver-side pillar because the paint had come off in places. It was not to difficult to remove. Roll the window down and pull the seal away from the pillar. Undo the three screws and wrestle a bit to get it out.

It's more tricky getting it back in. It takes a bit of doing to get the bottom seal to seat properly. I used rubber conditioner to slick things up then poked and prodded carefully with a small screwdriver till it went into place.

Thanks for posting, rkw. A 10--minute job. Lube the weather strip with soap or similar for easy re-install. There is no need to remove the door chrome trim per a subsequent post.

What about the seal in the door mounding. Not the one that makes contact with the window but the other one? The one that is under the b pillar moulding, what position should that one be in?

Does anyone happen to know what part the part number is for this b pillar? Searched all over and feel like its super hard to find. My rear driver side door pillar had some of the paint crack off today and it looks terrible now, went to buy a replacement but now I'm having trouble locating part number, please help thank you! I put electrical tape over it for now

Hey think I found the P/N

Driver Rear Door Front Molding. Lexus P/N: 75762-50020

Not that that makes it any easier to find. I had some luck asking to buy the specific piece from someone selling a used door on offerup. Might be a cheaper route than the dealer

Yes please make a good explanation about this because it looks very risky with breaking stuff when you click them the wrong way out and those window seal rubbers looks risky too because you could end up with wind noise. Be careful and post as many info as you can

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but dealing with this on my 05', except it is the on the front door. The part number for the driver's front door is 75756-50020
Part seems to be ~$140. If it is a 10 min job, I might tackle it instead of some paint/vinyl wrap craziness.
Will update with what I end up doing (I also want to do the inside driver's upper B pillar, as the fabric is fraying, and not sure I am want to die by 1000 cuts
More soon.

Did this job 4 years ago. It really is an easy repair. Found my part online at Bell Lexus North Scottsdale for $124 back then. Bell used to have the best OEM dealership online pricing back then. I went new as finding a 430 in a yard near me is near impossible.

Check out Amayama.com. Literally everything you would ever want for about a 1/3 the price. I’ve used it several times and it’s a godsend.
