Default Tilt/Telescopic Function and Cold Weather

My Tilt and Telescopic Function work fine all year long until it starts getting in the low 30's and below. They both quit working. I can pull car in my garage where it will be around 50 and the next morning, guess what? They both work again. What's going on? I don't want to replace the motors if my problem is not the motors?

Could be the rubber bushings not liking the temp extremes. could try some grease on the shafts. If they work the rest of the time i dont think replacement would be necessary.

I recently removed the steering column cover on my 2001 and greased the jackscrews for the tilt and telescopic motors just to make sure they both make it through another winter. If yours are having difficulty, that will buy you some time, but it may be that the motors are getting weak.
