Default New LS Owner

Picked up this '02 over the weekend, this was a bucket list car for me and it has surpassed my expectations! Last Toyota I owned was an '82 TE72 Corolla. Plans are to keep it relatively stock, with some newer OE wheels and a small static drop. First order of business was to tint the windows. The car has 133k miles on it and is very clean. Couldn't find any info about preventative maintenance has been done thus far, so I'm doing fluids, timing belt, water pump, and idlers this weekend. Wish me luck!

Congrats! I'm picking up an '06 on Sat.....let us know how the timing belt/water pump goes, mine has 81k (11 yrs. old 10/05 production) so it is something I'm thinking about doing as well....

Congrats on your car. I too am partial to silver. One suggestion.. I'm not sure how long you own your car, but it might be a good idea before you sink any large sums into upgrades or maintenance, dirve the car around for a few weeks or even a month. Take note of all your car's needs and issues. Make a list. It takes time to notice all the possible issues with our older cars. Now, decide what is necessary and what the total cost may be before beginning. Remember, our cars are at the age where unless you know personally the previous owner, it is almost like doing a minor restoration considering the age and all the various systems. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Good luck with your new ride.

That is definitely the plan, my timing belt kit just showed up today. Will be tackling that this weekend, also replacing the door lock motor on the passenger side and replacing the ML Subwoofer with a Dayton unit. I cleaned the contacts in the mirror switch today, as the controls weren't working on either side. Worked like a charm.

Have you checked the VIN at drivers.lexus.com to see what has already been done at a dealer? or, did you notice a sticker under the hood?

It could be your timing belt service was done not too long ago.

its not showing any records at all in the Lexus system. The car is in fantastic shape, and runs great... can't believe it hasn't been maintained, couldn't find the sticker under the hood and I would rather be safe than sorry.

Very nice buys ... the white (or moonlight pearl?) '06 looks to be another UL with optional pre-collision safety system ("PCS").
