Professional headlight restoration with imperfections
Considering what this guy charges to just do your headlights ($125 from the previous thread?) he should be willing to go above and beyond. Just for reference, I looked on CraigList and usually people are offering that service averages like $50 and under in my area. So he's really shooting the moon for the service he's providing.
A lot of the reason I'm forced to do jobs I'd rather not is often times it's more of a headache getting people to do a "good" job. You have to almost do it yourself if you want it done right. It's not me being a cheapskate, I would love to outsource more jobs.
Good luck with it.

After finishing putting on the clear, he told me the masking paper broke and he needs to come back next week to finish (or redo that side). It never ends. Noticed that in the sun, the swirl scuff marks are still there. This guy either is not good at his trade or it might be the headlight itself that's happens to be affected this way with the restoration. Regardless, once he comes back to correct the one headlight, he will not be seeing my business again.

I did mine myself (car painter by trade). NZ has extremely harsh UV levels due to a significant lack of ozone above our country. I wet sanded by hand with P2000 first to remove the deeper marks and oxidation and then used a P5000 3M Trizact disc on a DA sander to refine the marks and begin polishing it up. Then with a foam cut pad on a rotary buff and fine rubbing compound I polished out the 5000 marks (by that stage it was really only light hazing) and then polished up with an extra fine finishing polish, and a coat of wax over top to help seal it. I was surprised as to how well they turned out, however I now noticed that there are runs of some description on the inside of the lenses. Buggered if I know how they got there
anyway, this is why I dislike and distrust anything body repair related. I think I've mentioned I've used comet cleanser on my Nissan and it looks great for a few weeks as I never sealed it. It's not rocket science, but Imdid it by hand. The professional likely used a machine IMHO. The short attitude and I'll get to it when I can would irritate me. BBB works.
if I'm not mistaken, the driver side headlamp looks better than the pass. Side?
