Some of the black film that covers the exterior trim piece on the B pillar has flaked off . It's nuisance and purely cosmetic but it bugs me. Looking it over , this appears to be a straight forward DIY but is it? I am also wondering if I should just do all four panels while I'm at it. Mostly just want to clean up and keep the LS looking her best.
If you are talking about the lower section (the one that is not suede) then it is very simple. You have to remove both front and rear door sills (that say Lexus) at the bottom because they overlap. After removing those, the b-pillar just pops out toward the seat (it might be easier to move the seat all the way forward for a bit more room). Some clips may fall or stay stuck to the body, but I'm sure you can manage to figure that out pretty easy. I try to use a plastic pry bar (I use a yellow one that I got in Lexus school) every time I work on interior. Hope I helped a bit.
Thanks MERKEDLS, I may have mis-identified the part but I am referring to the exterior panel that covers the center post . It has what appears to be a black plastic film over chrome trim. There must have been a bubble under the film that eventually cracked and the film flaked away in a small section so that the chrome is showing through . Picture below.
