Should I Use Fuel Additives?
That is the only additive I have ever seen results with. Every car I used it on picks up 10-20 miles per tank on the treated tank and slightly better mpg on subsequent tanks. I pour in 2 bottles and fill the tank then drive to near empty. It's not really worth it economically speaking since the treatment never pays for itself; it is cheaper to burn the additional gasoline saved by not using the additive. The camera scopes have gotten cheap enough to where you could video the before and after of a cylinder to see if this actually does anything. Some improved MPG is probably due to driving better to induce better mileage so you feel good about buying the additive. In other words you want to see the results you are looking for after spending money on the product.
Everything else from STP, Berryman, Seafoam, etc. has been snake oil in my experience. The Seafoam smoke show where the stuff is pulled into the engine with a brake booster vac line is the worst of them all. Decarbonizing your engine using plain water introduced very sparingly with the same approach is pretty much free and actually works (google it). If you change your oil on time and use quality gasoline this stuff is really not needed at all.
