Default Fuel gauge - range

The cluster info indicated an approx range of 70 miles.
My destination was about 35 miles to the desired gas station.
Then the yellow warning light came on; shortly after that the Low Fuel warning.
When these indicators come on how much fuel is still available? Or how many miles can you safely drive with the remaining fuel?
(I filled up at the nearest gas station to be on the safe side)

The low fuel light on the gas gauge comes on first, followed several miles later by the "Low Fuel" in the center info below the speedometer. The "Low Fuel" appears when there is 40 or 60 miles left in the tank. You can determine how much is left in the tank by filling up and seeing how much fuel is needed to fill. Subtract that amount from the gas tank size: 22.2 U.S. gal.

Note: the fuel pump is located in the gas tank (under the back seat) and gasoline dissipates heat from the fuel pump helping to keep the fuel pump from overheating. It has been suggested that you don't make a habit of driving on the reserve in the tank.

thanks Tom
When the yellow light came on in the bimmer I had only about 25km left
On the way back from Bellingham to Vancouver the fuel consumption varied between 6.7 to 7.9 l/100km with the LS 01
Yesterday the throttle body and the MAS was cleaned. I run 92 oct premium gas
It just turned 194000 km
