Default Rear wheel fitment question. 275 tire, 9.5" wheel, 40mm offset.

I want to order TSW Mirabeaus for my 02 LS in a 9.5" width and 40mm offset, wrapped in a 275/35/19 tire. Discount Tire is saying they're going to rub and just the wheel alone is going to stick out 37mm farther than the stock 7.5" wide 45mm offset wheel. Then the 275mm tire is gonna be 10.8" wide, effectively adding another .625" past that 37mm, for a total of 53mm/2" past the stock setup.

Normally I would just take their word for it and move on, but they're saying that the widest wheel I can put on the back of this without fitment issues is an 8.5", and I know I've seen wider setups on here. Also, other websites with guaranteed fitment claims say that the setup I want will fit. (I would just order from these other sites, but they're just not competitive on price or tire selection. Also, discount tire has told me other wheel setups on other cars wouldn't fit and I was more sure of myself than this time, and they always ended up being wrong.

Anyway, what do you guys think, will these fit without rubbing or having to modify my fenders?

To make things worse, there are only 2 of these rims in TSW's inventory, so I have to move fast.

I think they will fit with ease. Regardless of your ride height

Thanks for the reply.

If anyone else can chime in, please feel free to do so. If you think it will fit or won't fit, please explain why. Like, "I did this with my car and it did/didn't work", or "Based on (insert line of reasoning), you should be g2g/screwed", or "Check for posts from (insert forum member's name), he was having the same issue".

I'm really fretting over this, and I need to make a decision ASAP.

FYI, I'm stock ride height and it's like 95% chance it'll stay that way for several reasons. Should that 5% ever come to fruition, it'd be a really conservative drop on them Tanabe NF210's or Tein S-Tech's. But if they would interfere with the wheel fitment, then I'd forego the drop.

I highly recommend you dropping it on nf210. Does not effect ride comfort at all. It'll look 100x better. I'm currently on nf210 with stock 3GS 18" and I'm satisfied with the ride quality.

Well, despite Discount Tire telling me they wouldn't fit numerous times and basically coming just short of having me sign a notarized document acknowledging it, they fit.

Granted I haven't had anyone in the car and haven't hit any bad bumps or dove into any suspension-compressing dips, but I haven't even had any rubbing yet. Although from looking at the rears, I can't see how it's not gonna rub eventually.

All in all, I LOVE the wheels and the new look they give it. I've actually had numerous people think I bought a new/different car when they saw it. Those old 16's were completely killing the car, so happy I did this.

Anyway, I mainly wanted to post this for anyone else that ends up in the same dilemma and goes searching around for info and comes to the same dead-ends that I did.

I'm hesitant to even post them because I don't want to hear all the "drop/lower it" comments, but here they are. Figure it might help someone who's trying to make a decision/purchase. I'd love to be a special snowflake and be the only LS on Mirabeaus, but it's a big country

Looks good, I don't see the need to lower, since it's your car!

I don't want to lower mine either btw

Did you go staggered? Or 275 on all 4?

Thanks man.

Yeah, I went staggered. Did a 19x8" with a 245/40/19, +35 offset up front IIRC.
