Was there a wheel option for the 2004-2006 LS430 for a 17 inch wheel? I know very well how the wheels affect ride comfort on our cars, and i'm considering moving to the 2nd series LS430 from the 2001 I have now, but enjoy the amazing comfort of my 17inch wheels. Are they available for the 2nd series? 2004-06.? or only 18 inch rims?

 

2001-2003 LS came with the 7-spoke 17" wheels
2004+ LS came with the 6-spoke 17"

At first I thought they were both the same but later realized the designs are different


So to answer your question, YES they do come with 17

I think the 18 are an upgrade option.

 

2001 came OEM with 16" wheels - 17" an option, possibly '02 as well.

 

Yes, My 2001 came standard from the factory with 16s but the original owner did go for the 17s as an option ( thank God as those 16s are so ugly). I'm glad the 04-06s come standard with the 17s as I will still be able to enjoy the comfortable ride while getting longer tread wear as well. Now I just have to find a car I like and if it has the 17s it's a bonus. Do the 2nd series 17s look similar to the 1st series 17s?

 

No, earlier 17" were 7 spoke and '04-06 were 6 spoke. Different. I have 16" as daily and a set of snow on the 17".

 

I assume the 04-06 17s look sportier than the the 01-03 17s.

 

seems to me that in '04 most or all had 17 inch wheels, but by '06 most have the 18 inch wheels. the 18's look better to some, the 17's ride better but not by a lot. then there is the alloy or chrome. so 4 options in OEM wheels for the 04-06 LS430. if you have 19 or 20 inch wheels they are not OEM

 

I guess If I'm seriously looking for an 04-06 LS430 to replace my 2001 LS430, the wheels should certainly be the least of importance in my decision making. For Sure!

 

The 04 17" with 6 spokes looks a lot nicer than the 01 7 spoke. Just my opinion though
