2005 LS430 Multi-Information Display blank
Hello everyone, 2 weeks ago, I finally became the owner of my first Lexus. Its a 2005 Lexus Ls430 UL Black on Black. I will start a build thread one day, once I figure out all the little issues that are arriving (suspension bouncing like crazy intermittently). Anyways, I tried looking at the Multi-Information Display to see if there is anything that needs to be replace but the display is just blank. If I press any of the buttons (Disp1, Disp2, or Reset) nothing happens. I have checked all the fuses on the drivers side (engine bay, and under steering wheel), and some that I thought would be it on the passenger side, but nothing else was messed up. Anything I could be missing? I have fully built a S14 that I used to own, so I know how to get around on cars. Thanks in advanced!
don't have Nav. or air shocks, but as an ebay shopper I believe used displays are around $1,000. you don't even want to consider a new one. so obsolete anyway but necessary for air conditioner or some nonsense. air shocks are a dime a dozen so no problem there...
Sorry there is no message, I meant to say still is blank. Do you really think the cluster needs to be replaced? Its not just a bulb in the back lol.
When I hit the Cruise control the Radar display works fine in the middle.

^since your radar shows up, your instrument cluster is fine.
R33, press the button that says DISP 1, and keep holding for a few seconds, you will see it bring up information, and you'd be able to cycle through different modes by pressing the DISP 1 button.
If you want to make the screen off again, just keep cycling through the options until it disappears(which is at the very last of all reading modes.)
If you were referring to the small box in the middle, where it is labeled "graphic information". Then you will need to press and hold on button DISP 2 for a a few seconds.
If your car has OEM NAVIGATION, then that small box will only read the outside temperature and display it for you.
If your car did not come with factory NAV, that small box will display the direction of which you're headed.(N, S, E, W, NE, NW, S, SW etc.)
AND the outside temperature. Separately.

If you are talking about the dash display and the buttons on the wheel, I know my buttons worked intermittently because my steering wheel clock spring was (going) bad. Does your horn work? My cruise worked but I had no horn and the disp buttons worked intermittently. Also, I heard beeps like I was turning stuff on the dash on and off when I turned the wheel.

Thanks so far for the help guys. Here are some pics of my car to help with any confusion.

I tried holding the DSP1 in for a couple seconds all the way up to a minute and still nothing. But if I hold the DSP2 button in the climate does go out. The button on the steering wheel (DSP1) feels a little different (not as stiff as DSP2.) I have yet to try the other method but will when I get the time (rain is a pita)

Having the same issue on my new '06 430. Cluster-temperature shows, but "range/fuel eco, etc" doesn't. Tried holding it, tried resetting it, nothing. Any solutions are greatly appreciated. I used to have an '06 UL which I loved. I also had an '01 base, just got rid of my 460 swb that I nodded the **** out of. I love Lexus, but the little issues I have to fix are getting annoying.
