Alignment Issues from New Wheels?
Howdy,
I have a separate rim / tire set for my winter tires. My old rims were O.E.M 16s off an Ls400 (MY2000). But the rims were badly corroded and they couldn't hold air. So I got new rims from my tire shop.
The wheels obviously don't fit the hubs without centering rings. So I got some for the rims/car hubs.
But now my rear tires look really toed in. I got an alignment two months ago and it shows that the tires were toed just slightly out.
Is it possible that centering rings were crushed? Or does anyone have some thoughts on the matter?

The centering rings shouldn't matter. I've ran aftermarket wheels with and without centering rings, and I cannot tell the difference between which wheels have them and which don't. The centering rings are supposed to reduce vibration IIRC? I honestly don't think they matter.
Centering rings aren't going to effect alignment. Alignment is effected by suspension components (including bent/broken suspension components, etc). Are your new tires wider in diameter than your original ones? If so, I think it may just be that the toe is just now more noticeable with the larger wheels and tires.
If anything, get your alignment rechecked. How are your tires wearing? Is there any uneven wear to suspect alignment issues?
