I ended up putting in a new OEM made in Japan pump and the car works as it should. However, upon examination of the failed pump, I found the casing discolored which makes me think the fuel had moisture in it. I have my regular gas station near home where I gas up everything but taking a 2500 trip, I was fueling at points along the way. When I got home I parked the car in the garage and left it for weeks. Do the fuel system experts know if water in gasoline will cause this kind of problem with the metal casing? The new pump had a gray grey/black finish on the case.
I've never seen a fuel pump look like that. Were you able to peek inside the tank? Did you scratch the alphanumeric characters onto the pump? Can't see how water would do anything close to that.

It came out just as you see it. Nothing was etched into it and and far as I can tell, this is the factory installed pump and no one has been in there since new. The car was dealer serviced for everything up to 2018 when I got it. Nothing in the service history is fuel system related. I have also never see anything like this.

Thanks for the info. Scary how much damage it did in less than 4 weeks. I need to drive this car to near empty to dilute what old fuel is in the tank with a refuel.
