Scratched Bezel Around Nav Screen
Glad I found this thread, I've wanted to fix that trim bezel for the longest time. My screen is all scratched so I'm ordered a used unit and plan to fix the trim with the duplicolor. Looks so much better.
That color is a good match, better than I've seen and 99% as good as the professional job I had done, and the 1% is not worth the money. 2 years ago I was not aware the color could match that well and I did not know yet how to remove the bezel. After going through the whole 'send in the nav unit to fix the connections' thing I dug harder into this forum and found enough info to learn how to remove it. But back then I paid a professional interior restoration shop $288 to paint it just to fix one spot, but I wanted it perfect. That was still a deal compared to the lowest discount site charging $460 for the bezel. I was going to do that since it includes the vents and oscillating motors, but now I am glad I didn't because in 8 years of owning 430's, I've never seen those motors quit. I don't prefer the vinyl strip thing because somewhere you will have to have a line.
When I shop these things, that is one of the pics I always look for is how scratched up the bezel is, tells me about the care of the car.
