When I bought the car there was no issue with the battery
Drove the car 800 miles from the PO to my residence in August
Because I want to sell my other car first, I park the LS in the carport
Started it briefly occasionally. No problem
Today the key barely opened the car, then the emergency flasher on the dash lit up and the horn gave some croaking noises that became fainter and fainter. Starting would not even light up the dash.
Checked the battery - no indication how old it is, no dates punched out
battery says Lexus. Last time I started the car was about a week ago.
Question: are there some electrical parts that are on all the time? No, the trunk was closed firmly, all lights shut off.
Checked the service records. Only one record from the dealer: Owner says battery is dead after 2 days. Recommend new battery.
No record if the battery was actually replaced.
Funny that the dealer did not mark the battery re warranty
Car was always dealer serviced
Had a similar experience when I bought mine. I went to a battery shop and got hem to test the old battery. It was really shot. Replaced it and have had no further worries. Sometimes my car stands for more than a week.
It should but the battery light is really stupid. If the alternator is failing no light. Basically, you get a light once you get stranded. Most likely it's just a failing battery.
