Subarus have such brand loyalty. The BMW have a solid 100k certified warrantee covers everything. I would drive a 328, pretty dependable, before the WRX. It might make ya feel like a teenager again, thats who I see driving them. They are fast wonder how the car handles all the power. You gonna lower it and get those big mufflers?

When choosing a 740 a MUST is the change TCG (timing chain guide). Its a small plastic (!!!) piece, costs peanuts but incurs a 32 hour labor cost. It is watched the same as the tb change on the LS. But it is a beautiful performer (E38)
Lav, I truly think you'd regret selling your LS. They are so solid, such titans, built so well, it's just ridiculous. A neighbor got a new 70k E-Class and it doesn't feel nearly as solid as my 11 year old Lexus does. Still a super sharp ride, though. I love all this new technology with the newer cars.

And ahh, the E38. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE. I am a HUGGGGGE FAN (my dad had a 97 740 years ago), but one would have to be crazy to buy one today, when they're that old.

My old boss bought a 99 740 with like 140k on the clock a few years back. I immediately told him it was a mistake, as much as I do love those cars. He didn't listen. TCG blew (and motor) less than 3 weeks later and he was out 6k, and took a complete loss on it. I tried to tell him.

I picked up my LS a month or two later and I can still picture how green with envy he was. When he told me he was looking for an older high end luxury car before he bought the Bimmer, I told him the only way to go was with an LS.

The E38 drives like a DREAM, like a proper older BMW, but it isn't as refined nor luxurious as the LS430.

No, not into lowering it or anything like that. It's low enough already. I test drove a few and it's just an exciting driving experience. The way it grips the road and the power of the turbo is pretty amazing. The WRX is not a cruising car for sure. I see it more like a Saturday drive in the mountains or some fun at the track. Stock it's almost a 5 second 0 - 60.

I would say DO NOT sell your beautiful LS430 UL. But if you do, please sell me your 16" stock rims. I need them for the winter. Been looking but no luck so far. Please let me know. I am in NY and will pick up if need to.

Be weary of the wrx motor it likes to go boom if you mess with it..... They are cool as hell though. Do what makes you happy man its your money. A wrx with a decent exhaust is what i was looking at before i bought my ls. The reliability though was more important to me over the fun factor, A friend with an evo who has also had a wrx steered me in the Lexus direction. No regrets what so ever.

I had an old 2006 WRX that I regretted selling. WRX's, especially the new one, are totally worth the money. You really can't compare the old ones with the new.

As long as you don't dink with bigger turbos, the 2.0L will be reliable. Most people I know just get a tune on it and call it a day. The tune really isn't for power, but mostly for drive-ability. The 6 speed on the new gen is a welcome change from the glass 5 spd.

The isn't much turbo lag with the new twin scroll and equal length headers. You do loose the classic subaru rumble, but you get more power and almost insta boost.

If you do go stage two, I highly recommend a quiet aftermarket exhaust like a borla hush or Daddy SCP's maddad whisper.

Interior wise is a night and day change too. Much better craftmanship and fit/finish.

Of course, you probably already knew all this...I just like Rexes....

I have heard the same thing fatnslow. Especially with how much Subaru improved the infotainment system in 2016. The fit and finish is not as nice as a Lexus but the Limited model is only 32 vs the Lexus at nearly 80 grand new.

Well, I have decided not to sell the LS at this point. I think I will come down with a case of LS Regret if I do. Mine is just too nice to get rid of. Decided to just give her a younger more energetic sister.... lol

Very nice! I love that color. By the way what do you use on the seats in the ls? The leather is in beautiful condition.

Thanks, the metallic grey looks really lovely in the sun and is not too flashy. Combined with the black leather interior it really is a beauty.

First, having window tint really does help. It prevents UV damage from sitting in the sun. I also use a sun shield on my front windshield when parking outside in the sun.

I use the Lexol cleaner and conditioner. I'm also consistent. I clean and condition about every 2 weeks.

This is a pretty decent video. There are more on Youtube.

Lavrishevo,

Congrats on your new WRX. Very Nice. I think you made the right choice, your LS is beautiful.

BTW, since you have a WRX, will you be using your LS in the winter?

I would like to buy the 16" wheels from you. PM me.

Cool thanks for the video, yeah the tint was the first thing i did not sure how the previous owner had none on the car. And the second was a sunshade made to fit the ls windshield. My only worry with the conditioner is that I don't want the leather to get that shiny look to it. Congrats again on the new ride and good choice on keeping tthe ls.

Sorry Rosson, I'm not going to sell my snow tires. I want to have them for the winter. The WRX will mostly be a weekend car.
