kind of a crazy question, but does any body find the accelerator is hard to push? ls430 2005 also you have to be cautious braking , if you hit the brake pedal to hard it activates the assisted braking feature?

The LS430 has what is called the drive-by-wire, which means that the accelerator pedal is not connected by cables to mechanically operate anything in the engine bay. Instead, it's connected to a rotary position switch to provide an input signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). If you're experience excessive mechanical resistance on the accelerator pedal, please take a look at diagram below to troubleshoot for mechanical interference...
Not a mechanical interference, but the pedal is quite hard, especially for what it does - moving an encoder.
I looked at mine, it had two springs on the pedal, I unhooked one, now the pedal is very soft - as it's supposed to be on a lux vehicle...

I would feel a bit uncomfortable to unhook one of the springs. The accelerator pedal must be able to return to its original position reliably when you remove your foot to slow the vehicle. Removing a spring may slow the pedal's return, and worse, it may get stuck on the way. I'm not aware of a way to adjust the stiffness of the pedal, but if you position your foot further up the pedal (away from the pivoting point near the bottom), the pedal is actually very soft. Just my $0.02 worth!
