Default Stripped Oil Pan Drain Bolt

When I changed the oil last month I noticed the last person who changed the oil stripped the threads in the oil pan and let it go.

I also replaced the same bolt with some Red Loctite to hold the bolt in place, and so far so good no leaks and appears to be tight for now.

Any thoughts on a proper repair without replacing the pan? I see several tools and methods on Amazon and You Tube.

Anyone have experience here?

Thanks in advance

How thick is the drain bolt hole? If its thick enough you might be able to fix the threads with a tap.

We have a 2 piece oil pan Crankcase.
I suggest removing the lower part for repair just to be sureyou don’t get any debris in the engine. It’s not that difficult to do, justplan it when the next oil change is due.
