I'm pondering replacement options for the power sunshade on my 01 UL. I already had the right side welded last year, and it broke again a couple weeks back. The left side is also sagging a bit, so having it welded again would be futile.

I can have the rear window tinted with the top of the line ceramic tint for $200.

The cheapest replacement sunshade assembly I can find is $1300, not including labor. That makes it not really worth it.

I'd like to fix the sunshade, if possible. I'm curious if anyone knows of alternatives to replacing the whole sunshade, especially if sunshades from other models of Toyota/Lexus would work in the 01 UL. I just need the arms that go up and down... The rest of the assembly is intact.

 

Check your nearest wrecking yard. I know those things are expensive when new.
