Default LS430: Air suspension vs Spring. How big difference?

Hi guys,

I had the lucky opportunity to drive 2 LS430's back to back with each having either suspension.

I honestly couldn't tell that much of a difference, maybe the road was already very smooth.

I want you guys' thoughts desperately.

Is the Air suspension more trouble than they are worth?

I drove both and could only tell a minor difference but preferred the 'normal' suspension. IMHO, the air suspension just adds another (to me, needless) point of failure, so I bought a car with the Sport Tuned suspension instead. Cars fitted with that will have a small badge behind each front wheel arch.

Everyone who rides in the car still comments on how smooth it is so I honestly don't think you are giving anything up.

As normal, others may have a different opinion.

I actually have a base model LS and one that had air suspension. There wasn't much difference to be honest. The air suspension is more trouble than it was worth. If you plan on lowering your LS it doesn't matter which route you go.

My 2002 LS on springs rides smoother but it also came with smaller wheels than my 2005 LS did.
