Default How does this 2006 LS430 look?

How reliable are 2006 LS430's?

Being the last model year of a long running model, I'd imagine it's very very reliable.

Am I right?

From the pictures it looks great. Suggest you get on Lexus owner's site, input VIN and check history. Lexus dealers usually do a nice job prepping these cars for sale. Great that TB and 90k service already done. Price is way high for a 2006 but dealer is going to charge a premium when they have a low mile excellent example LS430. If it sits on the lot for a couple of months unsold the price will come down. $22,900 would be a realistic price for a show quality car in mint or near mint condition.

Even for a UL that price seems very high. And it's at a Lexus dealer so that's a good thing. They usually pass on the junk and resell the good stuff. Yes, the LS430s are quite reliable with proper maintenance and care. Read the forum some more and you'll see that many of us have had great success with our cars.

My 2006 has had only 1 repair - the driver side mirror motor failed and required replacement when car was 4 years old. Since that one issue the car has been bulletproof. No other repairs other than new hood and trunk struts have been required required. Still running on the original 9 year old OEM factory battery.

To date I have only performed scheduled maintenance most of which can be done diy.

Because of the quality of the component parts, the LS car is aging better than any other car I have owned. At this point plastics, leather, switch gear, hoses, etc look like they are on a 2-3 year old car instead of a 9 year old car.

Your local market plays a big role in prices but the condition looks very good. I would think 18 - 20 grand is a more accurate market value. You can often use that it will need a TB & WP service soon in your negotiations. Double the check the air shocks for any rattles or signs of oil leakage down the body of the shock just below the airbag.

Lexus Dealers tend to advertise a pretty jacked up price initially too. Hoping a sucker will bite. My 04 was advertised at a Lexus dealer for $23,900 and I purchased it for $18,500 about 2.5 years ago. This was with 104k miles tb / wp completed, new tires and brakes, and a few other thing. Obviously private owner tends to be the best deals but it can be harder to find the car you want this way.

The LS430 combination of year, mileage, condition and equipment that you're looking at doesn't come along every day. I've been doing some intense online shopping on carguru.com, Mannheim auctions and Lexus dealers in my state of Fl and nearby states. Nice cars that are in demand fetch a premium. In an ideal world, if you're in no hurry and willing to spend a lot of time, then you MIGHT find just what you're looking for at a great price. But in my opinion it may be better to spend a little more if you've found just what you're looking for. A bird in hand...even if it's a bit overpriced.

yep, way high. One of the guys on this board just bought a 17k miles UL for 20K in florida...might have been less if he negotiated down. The FL car may have been an '05 however, but still....that WA dealer is high.

Finding an pristine vehicle with a documented service history (Car Fax) is not rare, but is what you should be looking for. And from photos and car fax, it appears to be the real deal. The Dealer knows they have a desirable car and they are going to charge for it. If this is what you want, I would figure out a way to make it work. These are great cars - and that 06 should go another 100K miles. If you are shopping price - probably need to look at other vehicles.
