Has anyone replaced one themselves. I'm a DIYer but from what I hear you have to pull the right drive shaft. Any thoughts?

That would be awful if you have to go to such great lengths. On the SC, you just have to remove a hidden hose clamp in the fender well, then try to get at the canister's mounting bolts without losing your socket attachments.
