Default LS 430 Left side mirrrow

When I turn my key on the left side view mirrow goes all the way arround and does not stop in position. It feels loose and maybe the gear on that mirrow is stripped. How do I repair that side mirrow? Does each side have a separate motor?

Each side mirror has 3 motors: One to move the glass up-and-down, one to move the glass side-to-side, and the 3rd motor to fold the mirror. If you can live with a "fixed" mirror (not folded automatically when ignition is off), here's a post that will show you how to disable it...

My ghetto solution until I want to go deeper is a tight zip tie around it, at least on my car it can't really be seen. I just don't use the "fold in" option (which is a dumb feature anyway) Otherwise it works great.

I personally hate the idea of sniping wires. I need to go in for "deeper surgery" and figure something out, but I have this feeling I'll end up breaking things and it will be a bigger project than I want right now.
